The purpose of elevator maintenance and repair is to ensure the use of elevators in a way that does not endanger the health and safety of people, living beings and our living environment during the operation of elevators used to transport people, cargo and goods.
For this reason, in order to continue the operation of the elevator, the maintenance of the elevator, its annual periodic inspection and elevator service must be carried out by elevator companies that have an authorized service and maintenance certificate.
Things to Consider in Elevator Maintenance and Repair;
- The company that will provide elevator service and maintenance must be a licensed elevator company that complies with the conditions specified in the regulation.
- When making an elevator maintenance contract, the maintenance periods of the elevator and the work to be done during the maintenance process should be included in the contract.
- While elevator maintenance and service is being carried out, the building official, as well as the elevator company official, must accompany and observe the work being done.
- After the service, the elevator maintenance form must be mutually signed by the building official.
- Replaced parts of the elevator should be delivered to the building authority.
- The elevator shaft, the upper part of the elevator cabin and the machine room should be cleaned.
- Elevator door locks should be checked during every maintenance.
- Elevator door glass should be checked for breaks or cracks.
- Elevator rails should be lubricated
- Parachute braking system should be checked
- The oil level of the machine engine should be checked and if it is missing, the oil level should be completed.
- Floor and cabin buttons should be tested
- Regulators and elevator ropes should be checked
- The safety buttons inside the elevator cabin should be tested to ensure they are in working order.
